Lizzie Flook grew up in London and Bay Area, California. She attended the University of Miami for her bachelors in neuroscience where she was a student athlete on the volleyball team. After a two year postbac at the NIMH, she completed her MD/PhD at Vanderbilt with her thesis using neuroimaging research to investigate neurocircuitry of alcohol use disorder. During medical school she discovered her love of child and adolescent psychiatry and came to Penn psychiatric residency with a goal of learning more about the emergence of psychopathology during development.
