Mengjia grew up in Wuhan, China before moving to the United States for her undergraduate degree at UC San Diego. While studying electrical engineering, Mengjia grew uncertain about what she wants in life and consequently developed a deep interest in psychology, neuroscience and philosophy. Mengjia further pursued a master's degree in biostatistics from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University to study mental health statistics.
In her free time, Mengjia likes to read, dance and zone out. She also loves trying out new foods and experiences.
